Love Your Food Club provides food deals, producer stories, event listings, articles, member accounts, and paid annual memberships. We use the information described below to operate those services, protect accounts, and communicate with members.
The public site's existing privacy notice identifies the operator as Selfbuild Ireland Ltd, 119 Cahard Road, Saintfield, Co Down, BT24 7LA. For privacy questions or data requests, email info@selfbuild.ie.
1. Information we process
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Account details: your name, email address, preferred location, and the credentials and session records needed to sign in. Passwords are used for authentication and are not displayed to site administrators.
- Membership details: your selected currency, membership status, renewal information, and the identifiers needed to connect your website account with the membership service.
- Payment and billing details: limited subscription information returned by SBPay. We do not store your full card number on this website.
- Saved items: offer, article, and event identifiers saved to your account. Guests can also store these identifiers in the browser.
- Marketing preference: whether you checked the optional weekly-email consent box when registering.
- Technical information: basic request, browser, device, and security information that may be processed by the hosting, CDN, and security services needed to deliver the site.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate members, connect accounts to membership entitlements, show member access, support saved items, answer enquiries, protect the service, improve content, and meet legal or accounting duties. Food Club does not currently process checkout or billing requests.
We send marketing messages only where you have given the relevant consent. Essential account, payment, or service messages do not depend on marketing consent.
3. Payments and membership services
SBPay is the intended authority for membership subscriptions, entitlements, billing and payments. Food Club currently receives only the account and subscription information needed to show access; it does not provide a checkout or billing-portal action.
4. Email delivery
The registration flow records your optional marketing preference. When email delivery is enabled, a provider such as Mailgun may process email addresses, message content, and delivery events to send account, service, or opted-in marketing messages. We use those details only as needed for the relevant message and delivery operation.
You can withdraw marketing consent through an unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by emailing info@selfbuild.ie. This does not stop essential account or payment messages.
5. Saved items and browser storage
Signed-in members store supported saved items with their account. Guests store saved-item identifiers in the browser. After sign-in, the site tries to move supported guest saves to the member account.
6. Cookies and similar storage
The site uses a strictly necessary lyf-token session cookie after member sign-in. It is marked HttpOnly, uses a limited lifetime, and helps the site request your account and membership status. Signing out removes it.
The site also uses browser local storage for saved-item identifiers. The current web app does not add optional analytics or advertising cookies on these pages.
You can remove cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Removing necessary storage may sign you out or remove saved local items.
7. Who receives information
Information may be processed by the service providers that make the site work, including hosting and security providers, the member and content service, SBPay, and an email delivery provider such as Mailgun when configured. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or needed to protect the service, members, or other people.
8. How long we keep information
We keep account, membership, support, billing, and saved-item information for as long as needed to provide the service, handle disputes, maintain security, and meet legal, tax, or accounting duties. Retention periods can vary by record and provider. Guest saved-item data remains on your device until you clear it or sign in and sync it.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, object to some processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To make a request, email info@selfbuild.ie. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may complain to the data protection regulator that covers your location or the processing. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office; in Ireland, it is the Data Protection Commission.
10. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and the security features provided by our service providers. No internet service can promise absolute security. Do not send passwords or full payment details by email.
11. Third-party links
Listings and articles may link to other websites, providers, or venues. Their privacy practices are separate from ours. Review their notices before submitting information to them.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when the site, providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page.
